Franco Salazar Hidalgo is the main antagonist in the drama series in Ikaw Lamang. He is the adopted son of Eduardo Hidalgo and the doting son of Miranda Hidalgo.
Appearance[]
As a young men he is known to be handsome by his mother and as a child adorable by his grandfather. He is an alchoholic person from 20s-50s. He first had long hair with bangs during the 1970s era and cut it short in 1980s era which he had grown a beard too.
Personality[]
Franco is a dominant, arrogant, and greedy man. Who always looked down to the Obreros because he thinks them as slaves. He has a short temper and will do anything even kill a person just to achieve his goals. He is also shown as an abusive person even hitting women such as Andrea, Rebecca, Elena, Isabelle and Tessa.

1964[]
Franco was first appeared when Eduardo celebrating his victory party for winning at the election as Mayor of Salvacion together with his wife Miranda and other wealthy people, Franco saw the two rich kids took his toy and became tempered and throw it away. when Samuel and his family arrived in Salvacion, Samuel saw Isabelle a rich girl from the Miravelez family, Franco came down and pushed Samuel for touching the car and later, he pushed him again for dumping Isabelle on the mud during the mass. Samuel begged for forgiveness and try to change Isabelle’s clothes and He’s still aggressive. He was argued by his father Eduardo for his actions, after that, his grandfather Maximo teach him his wrongdoings. Franco arrived at the Hacienda with his father and he saw Samuel reading comics, Franco teach him how to read in exchange for teaching him how to plant a sugarcane. he and Samuel were good childhood friends and he introduced him to Isabelle. And that all changed when Samuel told the truth on who burned Gonzalo's farm ending their friendship. In that night, Franco had a conversation with his grandfather and he tell him to ask forgiveness to his father but he refused and Maximo told him the truth that he’s not Eduardo’s son that he is a child from another man and Franco became hurt for learning the truth. When Isabelle’s parents decided to study her in London and Franco has planned to study there too so he could be with Isabelle.
1975[]
After years go by, Franco is now a handsome man where he appeared at the bar in London celebrating their batch reunion where he’s drinking along with his British Classmates and waiting for Isabelle to arrive. when Isabelle told him that she’s going back to Salvacion because her mother had an accident, Franco agrees. when he arrived in Salvacion at the mansion, Franco was greeted by his family and became happy. While at the party, Franco announced their engagement with Isabelle and he proposed to her. Franco took her hand to wear the ring, however, Isabelle remove his finger at the ring and walked away, Franco became hurt for Isabelle’s rejection. Rebecca revealed about Franco's true identity, that he's Miranda's son with another man and not a true Hidalgo but Samuel is.
1984[]

Gonzalo, Isabelle's father forcibly made her marry Franco. They both had two children, Andrea and Natalia Hidalgo. He was manipulated by his grandfather, Maximo Salazar. He pretended to be crippled and thus made Isabelle lose her trust. He does not admit that Andrea is her biological daughter. When it came to the point that Samuel and Isabelle plotted to escape from Salvacion with a ship, Franco made Isabelle choose a life changing decision. Either join him and Natalia or join Andrea and Samuel. Isabelle chose Andrea thus making Franco mad and he triggered the explosive on the ship killing hundreds even Samuel's family and then everyone was seperated and marks the beginning of Book 2.
2005[]

Franco is now a member of the Senate of the Philippines and he is running as a President for the upcoming election. He lives with her daughter Natalia and her assistant Tessa. When he met Gabriel as Natalia's boyfriend, his past is slowly coming back. He reunited with Isabelle on a party of his daughter Andrea. His dark secret was spread to the whole country about the bombing of the passenger ferrry at Salvacion and killing Samuel when he encounter him at the top on abandoned building.
Death[]
He had a near death experience while he was in a car with her mother. There was a bomb planted in the car. The bomb exploded but the two of them survived the incident. As the years passed by, he kidnapped Andrea because he cannot live with Gabriel. When he and Gabriel meet on an abandoned ship, they fight until he fell down and got impaled by the ship's hook.
